Since 1989, Delyon Wealth Management has helped provide financial advice and solutions to residents, building relationships that have lasted decades while serving as a beacon in the local business community. Second-generation owner Nicolas Delyon is now at the helm and is eager to continue on with his family’s business legacy of assisting friends and neighbors with their financial plans.

Delyon Wealth Management is a relationship-based boutique investment and financial planning firm. The business has served those in the community for nearly four decades, making it a stalwart institution in the area. Nic’s father, Gene, started the business in 1989; it was the first financial advisory business in Rocklin. Years ago, the firm took the leap away from a corporate environment to embrace the vibe of a family-owned firm where corporate bias and influence wouldn’t get in the way of the goals and aspirations of Delyon Wealth Management’s clientele.

Nic’s business savvy and resolute determination to succeed as an entrepreneur came after years of watching his father build the business and helping in various ways throughout his youth. “As a kid, I started stuffing envelopes and gluing nickels on business cards for my father in our garage when he was starting this business in 1989 and he had no office space or clients yet,” Nic explains. “I graduated to door knocking with him after that, then window washing the office that used to be behind the old Jasper’s off of Rocklin Road.” Nic went on to study at the University of San Francisco where he played D-1 baseball and earned a degree in finance. After college, he entered the professional world and gained some industry experience before joining his father’s firm in 2011. He purchased the firm from his dad in 2015, coming full circle from his childhood when he helped build the business from scratch. “I’m proud that we’ve been able to pass the business on from one generation to another while improving our offerings and services for our clientele while also growing and being good stewards on behalf of our client’s hard-earned money,” Nic says.

The business’s entrepreneurial longevity and family connection to the area set it apart from others in the industry. “Being a second-generation local family-owned independent business offers a different feel than many of my corporate competitors," he says. Nic and his team’s ability to identify and understand what clients need most is another point of separation for Delyon Wealth Management. This skill, which depends greatly on the ability to develop plans unique to each relationship, is one that can’t be overemphasized. Maintaining strong personal relationships with clients is the main current that runs through the business operations at Delyon Wealth Management and guides Nic and his team’s daily actions. “We value the personal relationships with our clients and strive to act and show that we care deeply about the success of our clients and their families,” Nic says. “Many of our relationships span for multiple generations and will into the future.”

Looking to the future, Nic anticipates continuing the work his dad started back in the ‘80s at Delyon Wealth Management while also raising the next generation of the Delyon family—his two kids, Miller and Camille—with wife Katie.
