West Pacific Cabinets By Melissa Strand

Since 1976, West Pacific Cabinets has built a reputation for creating beautiful, enduring cabinetry that reflects both craftsman-ship and imagination. Guided by their slogan, “Your imagination is our only limitation,” the company has spent nearly five decades transforming ideas into finely crafted spaces. From kitchens and entertainment centers to libraries, wine rooms, pantries, bathrooms and commercial projects, their work reflects a commitment to custom design and meticulous attention to detail.

The business is owned and operated by President Steve Dietz, Treasurer Cindy Dietz, Vice President Scotty Dietz, and Secretary Gaby Dietz. Together, they represent both the foundation of the company and the next generation continuing its legacy.

Steve Dietz was only 23 years old and working for a cabinet company when his boss and mentor retired and offered Steve the opportunity to purchase the business. Despite being the youngest of the company’s 25 employees, Steve stepped into ownership.

The company originally operated in Sacramento on West Pacific Avenue, which inspired its name. In 2001, the Dietz family relocated the business to Loomis to be fully invested in the community they loved.

From the beginning, the company’s mission has been simple: growing a quality company around a quality product with a quality team. One of the key reasons for their continued success is the stability of their workforce. Many of their craftsmen have worked with the company for years, and the shop maintains low employee turnover.

Whether someone needs a single cabinet or cabinetry for an entire home, every project receives the same level of attention and respect. The team takes pride in listening closely to each client’s ideas and wishes rather than pushing their own design preferences.

As the company approaches its 50th anniversary, the Dietz family considers that milestone one of their greatest achievements. Many customers return again and again, confident that the team will understand their vision and deliver exceptional work.

Beyond the business, the Dietz family’s life is centered around their property on Val Verde Road in Loomis, where three generations share what they affectionately call their “family commune”, complete with dogs and goats, along with the family raising its own beef and chickens. The family includes three grandchildren with another on the way, and two of them already living on the property. They have adopted six children, whose ages today range from 15 to 44, with one beloved child remembered as forever 28.

Each year they host an Easter-Eve celebration with nearly 200 family members and friends on the property, where more than 2,000 plastic eggs are hidden. The event has grown over time into a joyful celebration the family cannot imagine ever giving up.

Looking ahead, the future of West Pacific Cabinets remains firmly rooted in family. The Dietz family will see the business transition smoothly to the next generation, with their son and daughter-in-law continuing the legacy and guiding the company forward.
