Behind the business is owner Jim D’Ambrosio, a lifelong entrepreneur whose remarkable career spans banking, finance, healthcare leadership, and business ownership.

Jim founded Lincoln Gold & Coin in February 2014 after what he jokingly calls his “third retirement.” While many people dream of slowing down, Jim has always been driven by a passion for business and community. Originally from Orange County, California, he built and sold multiple successful companies throughout his career, including auto leasing businesses, mortgage companies, community banks, and garage door operations. Along the way, he also served as Vice Chairman and Treasurer of both Roseville Hospital and Sutter Roseville Hospital, helping guide major healthcare initiatives that continue to benefit the region today.

After years of traveling the world with his wife, Jeannette, whom he has been married to for 55 years, Jim found himself looking for a new challenge. His interest in precious metals, coins, and collectibles led him to open Lincoln Gold & Coin, a business that quickly became a valued part of the local community.

Today, Lincoln Gold & Coin stands apart because of the principles that have guided Jim throughout his career. Decades of experience in finance and precious metals provide customers with knowledgeable guidance whether they are buying, selling, or simply seeking information. The shop is known for fair and transparent pricing, a no-pressure environment, and the willingness to spend as much time as needed with every customer.

“We believe in treating people with respect and honesty,” says Jim. “Many customers come to us with inherited collections or sentimental family items. We take the time to explain what they have and help them make informed decisions.”

As Jim prepares to celebrate his 80th birthday, the future of the business is already in capable hands. His grandson, Ricky, has spent years learning the trade and is preparing to take over day-to-day operations. Alongside longtime Administrative Assistant Joey Richards and team member Michelle Kim, Ricky will continue the customer-first philosophy that has made Lincoln Gold & Coin successful.

While Jim plans to spend more time traveling with Jeannette—especially returning to Italy to visit family—he remains proud of the legacy he has built. More importantly, he is confident that the next generation will continue serving the community with the same honesty, integrity, and personal attention that customers have come to expect.
