Paul Mesa Handyman Services

JULY 2026

With decades of experience in the construction industry under his belt, Paul Mesa began a new chapter of his career after hearing from friends and neighbors in Granite Bay that there was a niche that he had the skills and drive to fill. He launched Paul Mesa Handyman Services to help homeowners cross off those pesky items from their to-do lists, and in starting this business, he not only was able to assist others but also found great fulfillment in using his skill set and expertise in a way that benefitted others.

Paul and his family have lived in Granite Bay for just over a decade. He and his wife Denise (along with their two children and three dogs) landed in the community and immediately felt embraced and welcomed. “My wife Denise and I absolutely love it here,” he shares. The couple’s daughter, Jacque, graduated from Granite Bay High last year and is now attending Loyola Marymount University. While home for the summer, she coaches the Granite Bay Gators swim team. Denise and Paul’s son, Nicholas, lives and works in the Bay Area.

Prior to starting his handyman business, Paul worked for 30 years as an IBEW electrician in the construction industry. After retiring from his role as an electrician, Paul explains that it wasn’t long before he was formulating a business idea in his head. “I was asked to help do a few things around an acquaintance’s home, and they suggested I start a handyman business,” Paul says. “I researched the business aspect of it and found several benefits that resonated with me. What I didn’t know I would find is that there is a widespread community with a need for help.” Through his work helping others with their home projects, Paul says it’s been his greatest professional fulfillment.

Throughout his rewarding career, Paul has met all the challenges that come along with handyman work. “I have done some interesting projects that include building an outdoor enclosure for cats, an actual dry sauna, and turning a dining and living area into a library,” he says. “The best part of my business is that I have not had the same experience day after day.” Through his business, Paul has been fortunate to meet and connect with a host of people in the Granite Bay community. Over the years, he’s met with elderly clients who can no longer do various projects in their homes as well as new homeowners seeking expertise with home upgrades. Paul says that it’s been a privilege to work with each of his clients, and through dedicated communication and top-notch results, he’s built a strong reputation for his service and skills.

From small tasks to more complex projects, Paul has been able to use his skills to help those in his community. His business continues to thrive, and he’s eagerly looking forward to continuing his work, creating bonds with his clients and finding fulfillment in jobs well done.

Testimonials:

Paul Mesa has done several projects for me including rewiring a house, installing ceiling lights, backyard lighting and other projects. He can do this due to his extensive background and experience. Paul has saved me time, trouble and frustration over and over again. I highly recommend the handyman that is Paul Mesa!

I can’t say enough good things about Paul Mesa! He truly does it all, from beautiful lighting design and installation to ceiling fan installation and drywall repair. Every project is completed with incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship. What really sets him apart is his positive attitude and friendly, can-do demeanor. He shows up on time, communicates clearly, and makes even complicated projects feel stress-free. The lighting he designed completely transformed our space, and the drywall repairs were seamless. You’d never know there had been damage at all. It’s rare to find someone this skilled, reliable, and pleasant to work with.
