MT Higgins Construction Transforms 1950s Home into Forever Home for the Noh Family

MT Higgins Construction completed a comprehensive renovation of the Noh family’s original 1950s home, converting it into a true forever home for their family of six—including two young children and two senior dogs.

The scope was extensive and truly “down to the studs.” Work included expanding the original footprint with added square footage, building a full kitchen featuring a butler’s kitchen and wet bar, installing custom white oak windows and passthroughs, and refining countless smaller details that came together into a cohesive, beautiful finished home. Design was led by Atelier Gardey, and everyone felt that working with Kerstin was a genuine pleasure throughout the process.

What stood out most was the steady, patient approach to design decisions. The Noh family made changes along the way—including several last-minute ones—and each time was met with a calm, problem-solving attitude rather than resistance. Michael and the team repeatedly advocated for the family with subcontractors to maintain a high quality standard and collaborated directly with the structural engineer to keep the project moving and secure necessary permits. The consistent pace of work was another highlight. Over the course of the project, there was always meaningful progress happening at the house.

The result is a thoughtfully expanded and updated home that meets the practical needs of a busy family while preserving the character of the original structure. Clear communication, responsiveness, and genuine advocacy for the client defined the entire experience. The Noh family summed it up best: if you’re looking for a general contractor who communicates clearly, moves the work forward efficiently, and truly advocates for you throughout the project, Michael, Brianne, and the full MT Higgins Construction team come highly recommended without hesitation.
